We only raced 2 times this season just to get our feet wet and to see if racing would hold the boys interest.
Its one thing to race a simulated NASCAR Sprint cup car on xbox and quite another to race a real go kart against real competitors.
The big difference, as the boys learned today, is consequences. When you wreck on xbox you hit reset and race again, when you wreck in a go kart, sometimes it takes some work to get back on the track..
The boys reversed their results from last time. Robert had 2 wins and Michael had 1.
Robert won the first and third race by a big margin. The second race Robert started in the back. As he was aggressively working his way through the field he tried a move a touch outside of his talent envelope just as Michael was going through a narrow turn. Michael's kart washed up the track and....... WHAM!, Robert hit Michael and the other driver in the race ran into the back of both of them.
Michael's kart started pretty easy and he went on to win that heat race. Robert wasn't so lucky. His kart broke a throttle cable and he had to sit out the rest (90%) of that race.
Thanks so much to the friends and family that came to see the boys race today, they really appreciated it. And a special thanks again to Paul B. from Raging Eagle Racing for being a great crew chief and an exceptional driver (and drivers parents) coach

I'll post some videos and pictures of some of the other competitors at Flat Rock over the next few days
